History

Casa Cremonini is the symbol of tradition and nobility in Italian gastronomy since more than 50 years

It all began when my father Giuseppe Cremonini was young and decided with my uncle that the two of them were going to work in the food business for the rest of their lives. Nobody believed him; perhaps not even his own father, who was living near Bologna in Oliveto (just the right name for olive oil…), where he managed a restaurant with passion, creativity and a great will to work.
My father and uncle started out in the meat business at a time when the world was changing: Italy was in the midst of industrial development and the country's women were leaving the home to take up jobs in the outside world. The brothers' work was pioneering: at the time there were no specific technologies available and they were directly involved in production, sales and distribution.

In the meantime, they were busy developing innovative machinery and gradually transforming the firm from an artisan-style concern into an industry. In Italy today this company is the uncontested leader in its sector.

They also decided to diversify the business: they branched out into salami, mineral water, fast food restaurants, frozen pizza and olive oil. Their recipe for success was the understanding of the global attraction of Italian cuisine.

In the 1970s and 1980s they became ever stronger and more diversified, combining all their strengths so that Italians would get to know our top quality brands, such as Casa Cremonini olive oil.

Today, my brother Angelo and I look after the running of the business with the same integrity and passion for our work that our father and grandfather showed.

I still personally taste and select the top extra-virgin olive oils.

Today, my life is completely dedicated to olive oil.

My secret? A passionate interest in my work and a great family.
